CA Child Abuse Reporting Law [evergreen]

This course is appropriate for MFTs, LPCCs, LEPs, and/or LCSWs.

This course meets the qualifications for six hours of continuing education credit for MFTs, LPCCs, LEPs, and/or LCSWs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. It meets the requirements for CA 6 CEU Law and Ethics Requirement.

Cathy Hanville, LCSW is a therapist in private practice in Albany, CA. She has been in private practice since 2001. She is a EMDRIA Certified EMDR therapist and also has her WPATH Certificate as a Gender Specialist.

Learning Objectives:
1. Participant will be able to name three different types of child abuse.
2. Participant will be able to name three circumstances when a child abuse report is mandated.
3. Participant will be able to describe three red flags that might indicate child abuse.
4. Participant will be able to describe the time frame in which a child abuse report has to be made

Program Goal:
Students will be able to demonstrate knowledge of their obligations to report under the Child Abuse Reporting Act.
