This course will review and challenge the research around eating disorders and body image in
diverse and underserved communities, focusing on cultural and psychosocial dynamics, including
racism and various forms of oppression. Dr. Raimondo will discuss current treatment models and
how they can be adapted for diverse communities through a social justice lens. This course is
designed as a collaborative effort, with the aim of proposing strategies to augment research,
diagnosis and treatment for diverse communities with eating disorders and body image issues.
