This is an online class intended to help clinicians better support their LGBTQIA clients. This course provides a framework of ethical standards for working with queer clients, as well as techniques for affirmative counseling.
This course is appropriate for MFTs, LPCCs, LEPs, and/or LCSWs, and meets the qualifications for six hours of continuing education credit for those pursuing their respective license. Likewise, it meets the requirements for CA 6 CEU Law and Ethics Requirement.
Learning Objectives:
1. Participant will be able to name three ethical standards that are applicable to working with LGBT people.
2. Participant will be able to describe three ways that discrimination affects the mental health of LGBT clients.
3. Participant will be able to name three techniques for affirmative counseling with LGBT clients.
