We know about the lasting effects of overtly abusive trusted adults. What is less well known are the effects of chronically misattuned parents, who are emotionally neglectful of their baby or young child–sometimes despite their best efforts.
This didactic and experiential weekend class will show you how to work with this population—the client for whom ‘nothing happened’, but who are profoundly traumatized nonetheless.
With specific regard to Emotional Neglect participants will:
-Identify common presentations
-Learn to recognize common protectors and exiles
-Become familiar with the legacy burdens
-Recognize attachment patterns in the emotionally neglected client
-Practice mapping clusters of parts somatically
-Experience working with therapist’s common protectors to find Self, build rapport and regulate clients
-Learn how to use Bilateral Stimulation (BLS) with protectors
This event takes place across one weekend: September 25 & 26, 2021
