Activist's Concerns
Relational Growth Group for Bodies of Culture
For adults who are ready to go from internal turmoil and suffering as the result of old wounds to thriving with internal safety and social confidence!
Have you ever wondered what it might be like to better understand your inner world and how to:
– slow down or completely stop being triggered & high jacked
– quiet the inner critic or inner perfectionist that sabotages your greatest efforts
– release yourself from the grip of stuck, stale and painful relationship patterns
This group uses Internal Family Systems (IFS) as a foundation for teaching about parts of your personality and exploring how they interact with each other. Group members will learn to recognize and identify those emotions, thoughts and reactions that create internal and external challenges throughout life. Sessions will include getting to know those parts of ourselves, and learning how to access the core qualities of a Self that is present within all of us.
With others, you will have an opportunity to:
– Work through discomfort and anxiety so that you can achieve the level of closeness and intimacy you desire
– Courageously connect with vulnerability and anger rather than engaging in avoidance and repression
– Experiment with expression of Self which will help you to increase assertiveness, self-confidence and calm
– Practice welcoming all of your parts while increasing presence, awareness and mindfulness
IFS is a powerful tool that can help you achieve greater well-being and balance by not only becoming more aware of these internal patterns, but by going toward them with curiosity and compassion to better understand and heal them.
Get to know your Self better, understand why you act the way you do, and develop a toolkit you can use to empower your sense of courage and creativity.

Colette Ellis
Hi, I’m Coach Colette!
As a Black woman, I know first-hand the challenges of dealing with the impacts of microaggressions, racism, and other forms of discrimination. I also am keenly aware of the under-representation in many industries, which leads to the “only” syndrome.
I’ve been working in the personal development and wellness industry for 15 years. By training, I’m a certified stress management coach and practitioner of Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT-Tapping). I’m also certified in Mental Health First Aid by the National Council for Behavioral Health and trained in Trauma-Informed Care principles by NYS OASAS.
To guide you on your path to wellness and freedom from oppression, I offer virtual sessions focused on healing, resilience, and self-care.
I’ve set an intention to #DisruptStrong; in particular, to disrupt the myth of the “Strong Black Woman,” who is supposed to be strong for everyone but herself. Instead, I believe that being strong is based on your personal journey to greater self-awareness. It’s also based on your willingness to be vulnerable and seek out support — which you are doing right now!
My goal is to create a safe space for you to have honest, healing conversations. I will support you to feel a sense of worthiness, to know that your dreams, your health, and your life matters.
Narissa Harris
Seeking therapy?
I have helped others learn how to reduce their worrying, stress, depression or just the daily struggles of life. I’ve assisted parents in learning how to manage their growing teenagers behaviors. I’ve worked with families on learning how to get along better. And I have helped those with a traumatic past, learn how to manage the many feelings that come with trauma.
Seeking a training or workshop?
I specialize in trainings around true cultural humility in a gentle, yet unapologetic fashion. Particularly issues that plague the African-American community. These trainings often lead to uncomforable feelings, that are needed, which help those who participate begin to reflect on a deep level. I also specialize in trainings around trauma in the community and in the home. In addition, I provide self care retreats that remind, refresh, and restore those in the helping profession. Encouraging them to remember that one cannot effectively care for others if you don’t care yourself first.
If you’re looking for extra support, guidance through a challenging situation, or you’re interested in attending one of my workshops or trainings, feel free to call or email me. I look forward to working with you to help you bloom into your best self.
